We were all grateful for the fantastic weather over the last week or so but let’s face it if you’re looking for things to do in London in October you don’t generally think about outdoor events, but I want you to make an exception and keep a spot open between 11 – 16 October for the Free2Dance charity event at the Scoop, this is the one thing everyone should try to get along to this month.

Staying with the outdoor theme for a bit longer, if you love watching American Football you should definitely head towards Trafalgar Square over the weekend of 21 October for the NFL Fan Rally, expect to see cheerleaders, American Footballers and Americana at its best.

I know we don’t usually cover events outside of central London but I think the Hide & Seek Sandpit event at the Maritime Museum is a deserved exception, it’s the usual fun and games by Hide & Seek but it’s the last one of the year so it’s sure to be extra special and takes place on 13 October.

However if all of those events are a bit to energetic for you then you could try the mayhem of a Michael Buble book signing, his concerts always sell out so I’m sure the chance of meeting him to sign his book will be the event of the year for his fans so avoid Waterstone’s on the 14^th.

Something else you might be interested in and may have forgotten about because it hasn’t been on for a while are the free evening foyer music sessions at the National Theatre, they’re on Monday – Friday from 5.45 and have all kinds of live performances.

Finally, I saw the Glamour of the Gods exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery ages ago and thought it was excellent and to celebrate the exhibition the Gallery is holding a Late night event titled The Glamour Factory this Friday which will have activities and things to do all around the Gallery to do with the Golden Age of Hollywood whic sounds like a lot of fun.

A few months ago I decided to close our email newsletter which told you about 2 for 1 deals and special offers in London because I wanted to move it to Facebook. I’m not going to bore you with all the reasons why I thought it would be better but as it turned out I was wrong, I never managed to get anywhere near the numbers of email subscribers we had.

And although I call it a weekly email if there’s nothing worth telling you about one week I won’t waste your time by sending you a rubbish deal.

Boy I’ve been a busy bee today. Getting all those 50′s lined up wasn’t easy. Umm

Now I’m sure a lot of the readers of this blog have got loads of money and don’t think London is expensive.

But for the rest of us on a budget who like a deal or special offer, you need to read the special offers post I did a couple of weeks back.

A hell of a lot more people signed up for the newsletter that I mentioned and we were caught right out.

What it meant was us trying to find a way of handing the volume. Eventually we (is that the royal we, it was me, me, me ) found a solution that looks brilliant and it also means we can take on even more subscribers with no probs.

If you live or work in London and want a bit of insider info on offers etc give the newsletter a go. Yeah it won’t be to everyone’s tastes but the offers are good and you’ve got nothing to lose.

In fact the last thing you want to be is acting like some tourist and paying full price for things that smart Londoners get for half price.

I remember going to London Zoo a while back and hearing Brits and people with London accents paying full price to get in. Unbelievable. But I kid you not.

If you don’t want to be like that or you haven’t got a big fat expense account, join the other subscribers and start paying less for stuff in London.

Doing this blog and the whole EPok thing I forget not everyone in London knows about all the little tricks and free stuff that I know to get.

I’m not spilling all the beans right now but over time I will.

I don’t know about you but I don’t know when I last bought a newspaper or even bothered picking up the freebies, their so called news is either depressing or wrong and who needs that in the morning.

If you’re like me then you wouldn’t have spotted this restaurant offer which I think is pretty damn good considering the restaurants involved.

Chris doesn’t agree with me on this which is why I’m mentioning this and he’s not. His take on it is why bother mentioning places with offers on special menus when we can get 2 for 1′s on full menus.

But my advice is give it try because as I say these are pretty good restaurants and even if the offer is only on a special menu it’s still worth giving a go and if you have the 3 course option you get a glass of Champagne!

Metromarks.com are still in Beta but reading the founder, Ayden Byle’s message (at the end of the About Us page) as to what they are hoping to do, it sounds like it could be a good resource.

They’ve got a listing of 20 London blogs, a couple of which I hadn’t heard about which might interest you and are worth taking a look at.

I don’t know why Burger King have had so many offers lately but I’m not complaining and I’m sure the EPok London Pack holders are happy too.
