Normally we only write about things to do or see in London so that you don’t miss out on great events.
But over the weekend I saw The Tree of Life and for the first time I’m writing about something not to see in London.
This is easily one of the worst films I’ve ever seen. Anyone who tells you differently, ask them what’s the film about. Ask them to tell you what the beginning, middle and end of the story is.
You know when a film’s good and you’re telling someone about it and you say I won’t tell you the end; I don’t want to spoil it for you. With this film there’s nothing that you can say that will spoil it.
Read the reviews in the papers and they’ll tell you it’s 5 stars, won this and it’s unmissable. All I can say is the PR people for the film have done a great job.
And if you’re expecting to see a dramatic performance from the usually reliable Sean Penn. He can’t be on screen for more than 10 minutes and then he’s not actually saying anything to anybody.
Seriously. This is one thing on in London not to waste your time going to see. If I’m wrong please tell me what I missed in the comments below.
