Hackney Wicked Festival or Vintage at Southbank let your conscience decide

by Chris P on 29/07/2011

hackney wicked festival london things to do

The Hackney Wicked Festival might be too cool for you

Yes The Vintage at the Southbank is Ok… for a Bourgeoisie crew

But if you want to get down and dirty where the new arts at

Sit down, get your pipe, read this and do the Cheshire Cat

You see there’s so many things going on

I don’t know where to start

Do you go to the Peanut Factory

For comedy and live performance art

You see this Festival isn’t Poplar, it’s way better than there

Eg the flyover cinema tickets went quicker

Than the sprinters will next year

If you look on the Festival website, it tells you all that’s on

I got a bit confused but there was one thing that shone

Things might be tough for us but it’s tougher for others elsewhere

Specifically I’m talking about Africa with the drought and despair

You’ve seen it on the TV and in the press

That’s why what they’re doing at the Flea Market, is sure to impress

All the proceeds from it on Saturday aren’t going into the Big Mans pocket

It’s all going to the DEC for the East Africa Relief project

So now I’ve said my piece, you decide. These next few words may offend

So stop reading Now, if you’re that way inclined

You see you can go to Vintage at Southbank and have a good time

But will you be able to look into those malnourished eyes

Without feeling a chill run up your spine.

The Flea Market at the Hackney Wicked Festival is at: Hackney Wicked Yard, 41-43 White Post Lane, Hackney Wick E9 5EN. It’s only a few minutes walk from the train station and for more details on other events over the weekend click Hackney Wicked Festival.

Also if you have a car take a look at Ronnie’s new site CarBidOff.com or read an article he did about how you can get a cheaper car repair bill the next time you go to a garage.

Hi Hon

I think what you’re doing’s great, that’s what I was trying to say

Hey Chris

I run the Hackney Wick flea market, donating money to DEC was not an attempt to impress, rather it is a channel raise awareness of the issue. I do the same for my record store on the market event page ;)

Cheers

Hon
