The comedy night is back again at the Kings Place and this week they’ve got, Impropera, and trust me, you have to see them.
Do you remember that programme, Who’s Line is it Anyway? The audience would shout out suggestions and the comedians on the stage would have to come up with a story.
Well Impropera is a bit like that except this time the story they come up with is an opera. Hence the name of the group, Impro meets Opera, Impropera.
Once they’ve got the suggestions they think of a story title and sing the story with the suggestions, in an operatic style. How they can think that fast to put a story together is impressive, but then to make it funny as well, that’s comic genius.
It’s a different type of comedy night in London, but it’s hilarious
And the singing isn’t like some amateur dramatic society. All the members of the group have been performing for years. Some are writers, TV actors, classically trained opera singers the quality is so good that the Telegraph simply said, ‘Brilliantly clever and irresistibly funny’.
