What was the last bit of stand-up comedy you saw?
I bet for most people it was something on TV. If that’s you and you enjoyed it, seeing it live is even better.
The thing about comedy in London right now is that it’s very good. The standard is so high that I guarantee if you go to any established comedy night, you’ll have a good time.
In a past life I used to organise comedy nights with comedians who were not household names and what struck me was how good they were.
Most of them could easily have been on TV, but here they were holding down full time jobs and in the evening doing comedy part time.
What I realised even back then was, you don’t have to spend big bucks at one of the high end comedy clubs to have a good comedy night out.
Now we’ve written about comedy nights before but now we’re going to do it on a more regular basis.

What we’re going to do is have a regular comedy club feature on the blog about lesser known comedy venues.
It will help you find out about new venues, introduce you to new comedians and save you some money when looking to go out for a comedy night.
I’ve started with Kings Place because as an entertainment venue it’s only been going since 2008. And as a comedy venue for just about a year.
However even though it’s new they’ve had top TV comedy stars doing gigs there which tells you the standards they have are high.
The comedy night they run is called, Off with their heads and is on every Thursday from 8pm and it’s usually only £9.50 to get in.
Unfortunately the Russell Howard nights are all sold out but the acts on the other nights are equally as good, even though they’re not as well known.
