On a clear day you can see forever
Close your eyes and let your mind wander
In the distance you see The London Eye
This is one of the best views of London from way up high.

No one knows about this attraction or at least very few
Everyone’s believed the hype and thinks the Eye is the only view.
That’s part of the problem and you see it everyday
Huge marketing spend clouds things that way.

You see there is another view of London that you can see
It’s from the Millbank Tower and it’s tourist free.
Up 29 floors the lift takes you in one go
And when you get there you can stay as long as you want too.

That’s right you could stay there the whole day
Because the Tower’s doesn’t close till 1am the next day
No need to rush round trying to get the best view
Just leisurely wait for the next free window.

But take my advice to get the most from your visit
Go at about 9 or 10 because London at night is exquisite.
Look down the Thames and see all the bridge lights on
It makes Paris look like a Tonka town.

The ticket prices are reasonable at 10 and £17
But you’ll have to be quick because it closes 2 weeks from now
It’s open Friday – Sunday this week and next
And after that you’re only option is the Eye I guess.
