Do you remember that scene in Batman when the Joker (Jack Nicolson) says, “Where does he get all those wonderful toys?”
That’s just what I was thinking when I heard about this Picasso exhibition at the small Gagosian Gallery near Kings Cross, how did they get such a wonderful exhibition and are able to do it for free?
I mean remember when Rainbowsurfer wrote about that Matisse exhibition at the Helly Nahmad Gallery that was almost impossible for any Londoner to see.
This shows there was something odd going on there because the Gagosian is having no problem putting this on over a Saturday so that Londoners can actually go and see it.
Admittedly during the week they could have put on a late closing day to make it a bit easier for everyone because 5.30pm as the last entry is a bit unhelpful.
The exhibition is called the Mediterranean Years, which means nothing to me, the point is it’s a free Picasso exhibition that I bet not a lot of people know about or have forgotten about so it should be reasonably quiet. I mean had you heard of?
And it must make you wonder how many other little secrets things like this are going on all the time in London. This is why if you want to get the most out of London you should subscribe to various London blogs because no one blog can cover everything that’s going on. Do remember to check out the 15 London blogs to read post.
As for the exhibition the gallery website shows 31 pieces that will be on display with opening hours from 10am – 6pm Tuesday – Saturday.
The nearest tube is Kings Cross and it’s less than 10 minutes walk from there, but from what I can see this weekend it looks like only the Victoria Line is stopping at Kings Cross so do double check before you leave.
So if you want to try something different on a Saturday go and see the Picasso exhibition, the Mediterranean Years, it’s only on until the 28th so you’re going to have to be quick, it’s at the Gagosian Gallery and is free.
