If you’ve never thought of Canary Wharf as an evening place to go to you’re most definitely missing out, because there are so many offices, there are loads of restaurants and bars there.
What’s been happening over the last few Thursday evenings is there have been live concerts in Canada Square Park, the concerts are free and always packed. Last week Chris wrote about the romantic evening they had and this week there will be an 80′s themed concert.
Thankfully they are not expecting people to turn up dressed in the style of the time, for some of us once was enough but they are promising some excellent tribute bands.
The way they’re billing it is they are putting on live bands and singers to perform 80′s classic songs from Wham, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Queen, Madness and many more.
Me being old enough to remember those bands when they first came out means I can’t see the fascination but I know I’m in the minority, if you’re one of the majority you’re going to be in for a very fun night.
As usual it’s in Canada Square Park which isn’t that big so try to get there as early as you can, it’s free to watch the concert which starts at 7pm and is on this Thursday.
The easiest way to get to the Park is to go to Canary Wharf tube, turn right out of the tube station and go up the stairs at the far end, turn right and the park is 100 metres or so on the left.
