A free kids event in London that your kids will remember

hedgehogI‘ve been meaning to write about the Sunday kids events that they sometimes have at the National Geographic store on Regent Street for ages and something keeps coming up, yes I’m talking to you Rainbowsurfer ;)

Well with the schools all off this is the perfect time for me to let all the parents know that this Sunday, Nick Spellman, the Animal Man, will be in the store and your kids will love him.

What he does is bring down different kinds of birds, spiders, snakes and other small animals for the kids to touch and learn about. He’s absolutely brilliant at what he does and you know what it’s like once the first child goes up, but he keeps it all under control in a really nice way.

He’s been doing this event at the National Geographic store for ages and if you can’t make this show he’s there every second Sunday.

There are 2 shows the first starts at 1pm and that’s when he has the birds, lizards and snakes and the show goes on for about an hour. He does do another session at 2.30 when it’s all about insects, spiders and small mammals and again that’s on for about an hour.

I’d say get there by at least 12.30 in case it’s a busy session and you want to get a place near the front but it doesn’t matter if you’re there early as there’s plenty to look at in the store and there’s a cafe.

The event is free and click National Geographic store for more details. By the way the store is at the Piccadilly Circus end of Regent Street so get out at Piccadilly Circus tube station.
