We’ve really been pretty fortunate this June on the weekends weather and event wise and this weekend is set to be more of the same.
The weather is going to be good and with so many event going on it’s hard to decide which to highlight, but when the weather is good you have to take advantage of it so I’ve gone for two outside events that look fun and are free.
One of the things I like about these two events is that there not that far apart as one is in Covent Garden and the other at Leicester Square and also they have times as to what’s on so you can plan the day better.
Both events are free and definitely based more around the family and kids so if you haven’t got kids in tow I’d say try something else (the BFI have still got some classic films on).
Although saying that as we’ve written before the Real Food Market at Covent Garden is always worth going to and they’re extending it this weekend till 8pm on both days.
I’d say the event in Covent Garden is the better one and it’s to celebrate something or another about the buildings there, but frankly who cares, they’re putting on some nice events and that’s what matters.
There’s so much going on there for the kids that there will be a kids marquee with special kids workshops on how to juggle, sing and various other things. Rather than go into it all click What’s on in Covent Garden this weekend for details and times.
The other event is for you theatre lovers, it’s called West End Live and gives you a tiny taste of what a lot of the theatres are showing at the moment.
It’s the 6th year of them doing this and the way it works is that a bunch of the shows do a short set from their show of anything from 10 – 20 minutes on a giant stage set up in the Square.
I think I’m right in saying that every musical show in the West End will be performing something but click the What’s on in Leicester Square this weekend for all the details.
Phew that turned out to be longer than I thought and if you have any better suggestions of things to do or what’s on this weekend put it in the comments below. Also to subscribe to our blog go to the top right hand corner.
