You know we always say that on this blog we tell you about some of the good and unusual things going on in London that can easily pass you by.
Well this is one of them for the hip hop lovers out there who read this blog. LL Cool J is in town.
Before you get too excited he’s not here doing a PA at a record store, neither is here performing at the Apple store (which I think is a big mistake by his people).
No he’s at Waterstones on Piccadilly signing his new fitness and diet book.
If it was any other hip hop star doing this they’d get laughed out of the shop. But LL has been round the block more times than most and has shown music is just one of his talents.
If he’s decided he wants to do a fitness and diet book I’m sure it’s going to be something different from all the rest. And you’ve got to give him respect for taking a chance on putting something like this out, because he could look silly.
But I think having the signing at Waterstones is a big mistake and Waterstones are playing it smart. They know the signing could go either way so they’re not giving an end time to the event which is very unusual.
Now if he’d had an iTunes version of the book he could have gone to the Apple store and he’d have been guaranteed a huge turnout.
If you want to see LL Cool J and get a signed copy of his book the event starts at 5.30pm at Waterstones on Piccadilly, tomorrow, that’s this Wednesday. Waterstones are saying get there early as it’s first come first served.
What do you think would it have been better if this was at the Apple store?
