A Greek Beech in London at the Southbank… you’re having me on

greek beech in london, what to do in london

If you've got a good imagination this will work for you

Everyone likes to be by the sea

But in England it’s more pebbles than sand you see.

And if you’ve tried getting comfy on a pebble beach

You’ll know what a treat it’s to have sand under your feet.

That’s why this activity is gotta be one to try

Who ever came up with it was on an unnatural high

You see they’re bring tonnes of sand to London town

And making the Southbank into a beach somehow.

Believe what I say this is no lie

What’s more they’re calling it a Greek beach, don’t ask why.

They say all kinds of things are planned

Face painting for kids and beach footie for football fans.

But from what I can see the weekends are best

During the week there’s just a bar and deckchairs to have a rest.

From this Friday to Sunday is when you should go

Then there’s lots of activities and food sampling on show.

But why have they deciding to have this now

Didn’t anyone realise the World Cup was around.

And the weather in June is never that great

They should have had it in July for heaven’s sake.

But hey if you’re around there and the weather’s ok

Close your eyes and imagine you’re far away

Kick off your shoes get the sand under your feet

Yes with the music playing in the background this could be Greece.

The Greek Beach is near Gabriel’s Wharf on the Southbank until this Sunday. It starts at 10am and goes on until 6pm and is free. Go to either the Embankment and walk over the bridge or to Waterloo and head towards the National Theatre, then walk along the walkway until you get to the beach. Click Greek Beech by the Thames for a timetable of what’s on.

Also so that you don’t miss out on other things to do in London keep reading our blog.
