Oh London town I love you so
No streets of gold but secrets untold.
Listen to those people not in the know
And they’ll tell you to go where everyone goes.
–
But you see London’s way more than that
To be honest, no one knows where everything’s to be had.
It’s impossible to confine this city
Events and things to do pop up too quickly.
–
As an example take the Apple store
They’ve had secret music gigs, comedy and lots more.
And what about Selfridges further up the street
Some of their events are totally off beat.
–
You see there are so many things always going on
After a few weeks everyone’s forgotten it even though it’s not gone.
So the two secret events I want to mention now
Weren’t secrets when they first came out.
But now their promos are over and done
Go to them and you’ll probably be the only one.
–
Take Hollywood through the lens at the Getty Images Gallery
Absolutely fascinating and you don’t have to pay any money.
The exhibition isn’t that big but the photos are great
If I had a grand I’d buy the Brando one make no mistake.
–
When I was there I was the only one
But don’t be shy the people working there are lots of fun.
They’ll leave you to it so you can take your time
No crowds to rush you or bunting you from behind.
–
Then just 10 minutes from there
It’s the Carnaby photo and film history affair.
With the Swinging Sixties in all it’s glory
And Carnaby Street at the centre of the story.
–
Again it’s not very big but it’s fun
There’s 60′s music in the background and a film going on.
There’s lot’s to read and things to find out
So if you’re interested in that period it’s definitely worth a shout.

Secret London things to do near Oxford Street in London include going to the Getty Images Gallery. The current exhibition, Hollywood through the lens ends on the 28th April. The other secret event is the Carnaby Street 1960 – 2010 exhibition at 38 Carnaby Street.
What is a secret London event? My definition is one that not many people any longer know about, which is why I have chosen these two exhibitions.
Do you agree or do you know of some better secret London events?
