Enjoy one of the Real Food Markets in London this weekend

Everyone talks about Borough Market and I agree with them it’s one of the must go to markets in London.

But don’t go on a Saturday afternoon it’s far too busy, first thing when it opens at about 8.30am on Saturday is your best bet if you have to go on that day.

However if you’re here on vacation then you should go on a Thursday because you get a chance to enjoy the market without the crush. Plus they have recently introduced 14 stall holders from the Real Food Festival that will be selling their wares only on Thursdays.

This is a fantastic addition to an already good market so ignore what the guide books say and pencil it in for Thursdays. The opening time on Thursdays is 11am – 5pm.

If on the other hand you can’t make it to the market during the week and you like a lie-in on a Saturday then your next best option is to try the Real Food Market at Covent Garden.

I’m not saying it’s anywhere as good as Borough Market but it’s a good alternative for a Saturday afternoon. They don’t have anything near as many stalls but if it’s good and unusual food that you’re looking for or want to try, then you won’t go wrong here.

They have all types of food and although it isn’t cheap the quality is always very good. It’s also a good place to get a nice lunch either from one of the stalls or make your own with the fresh bread from the speciality bread makers.

The Real Food Market at Covent Garden is open from 10.30am – 6pm every Saturday for the next few months.

There you have it then two of London’s Real Food Markets with the best day and time to go depending if you’re a visitor or live in London. With the weather forecast set to be good this weekend and the tube working well, get out there and enjoy London.
