One of the best places to go when it's raining in London
It doesn’t matter what time of the year you come to London, there’s always a chance it’s going to rain.
If you turn to your guidebook for inspiration I’m afraid it’s going to tell you what even most Londoners would say. “When it rains in London go to one of the many museums, galleries or other indoor tourist attractions.”
Trouble is those attractions are busy even when it’s not raining in London, so when the rain comes they inevitably become unbearably full.
To help you make the most of those rainy times here’s Part 2 of Things to do in London when it’s raining.
Because The O2 is often thought of as only a concert venue by people who don’t live in the area. They don’t realise there’s a lot more going on in there than just concerts.
As for tourist, they don’t think of going to the venue because most guidebooks and websites don’t give it a mention. Plus when you look on a tube map it looks like a long journey.
Yet these are the precise reasons why you should go when it’s raining. During the day it’s not overcrowded like central London attractions and the tube journey isn’t as long as it looks on the map.
The fact is there’s always some sort of activity or event going on there and because the venue is so big there’s something for everyone.
For instance there’s an 11 screen cinema so there’s bound to be something on you’d like to see. Then there’s the British Music Experience exhibition which will tell you all you need to know about British music over the decades. Or if you’re feeling more energetic you could try the Roller Disco which is on until Tuesday 31st August 2010.
On top of all of this there are lots of restaurants and bars so you could just go and have something to eat or chill out over some drinks.
