The London comedy club scene is more than just the Comedy Store

A great comedy night out for just £6

I haven’t written a post about the smaller comedy clubs in London for a while.

However after going to a couple of clubs over the last few weeks and finding them so quiet. I can see something needs to be written on a regular basis.

I think part of the problem is that most of the smaller comedy clubs in London don’t have a shed load of money to advertise. They have to rely on word of mouth and the occasional mention in the press.

The other part of the problem is that these clubs put on comedians that haven’t quite broken through, so people haven’t heard of them and assume they’re not very good.

What people don’t realise instead of staying in watching rubbish TV. There’s excellent comedy taking place all over London which in many cases they can go to for less than a tenner.

Yes you haven’t heard of the comedians, but the acts that the clubs put on are experienced comedians who know what they’re doing. Also the clubs let you know if it’s a novice night so that you know what to expect.

The comedy club I’m mentioning this week is the Laughing Horse club in Earl’s Court. The reason I think you should go this week is they’re holding the quarter finals of their New Act of the year competition. But instead of judges deciding who wins, it’s up to the audience to pick the winner.

I think it’s going to make for a great night and with Kevin McCarron as MC I guarantee you’ll be laughing all night long.

The London comedy club scene doesn’t begin and end at the Comedy Store in London. There are lots of smaller comedy clubs in London that are very good and worth your while trying. Give them a go you won’t be disappointed.

The Laughing Horse comedy night is on tomorrow, Thursday 1st April at The Tournament Pub in Earl’s Court, London. Doors open at 8pm and it’s only £6 to get in.

Also so that you don’t miss out on other things to do in London keep reading our blog.
