You know I wouldn’t tell you to go into work late and then ask to leave work early if there wasn’t a good reason.
But have a listen to ‘Matters at All’ by Kids in Glass Houses and you’ll see why.
You see here’s how it is.
This Wednesday Kids in Glass Houses will be playing a free special live gig at the HMV store on Oxford Street. Now why these HMV events have to always be so early, I don’t know, but the gig starts at 5pm so you’re going to have to leave work early.
That’s bad enough but to get to see them live you need a special wristband that you can only get from the HMV store at 9am on the day.
That means you’ll be in work late plus you have to get to the store as early as possible because they are only giving out 300 wristbands.
Oh and just to make it a bit harder for you to go along with some mates, it’s one wristband per person and the person has to be there.
Personally I think HMV are taking the mick. You look at how the Apple store did the Toploader event last week and that’s about the best way to do it.
Sure the way HMV are doing it they’ll get rid of all the wristbands, but that’s not the point, they should make it more fan friendly and accessible.
No word on how long the band will be on for, but at the end of their set the band members will be signing copies of the new album, Dirt.
To recap then, Kids in Glass Houses will be doing a live gig in London at the HMV store at 150 Oxford Street this Wednesday. The gig starts at 5pm but you need a special wristband to get in, which is only available from the store on a first come basis from 9am on the day.
