Celebrate the Chinese New Year in London
If you’ve never seen dragons dancing in the street
Come to London this Sunday for a treat.
The Chinese New Year is here once more
And you’ll see fireworks, dancing and there’s food galore.
–
Now most people head straight for Chinatown
Not realising there are other stages dotted around.
So that you get the most out of the day
Here’s a quick guide as to where you want to be.
–
The fun kicks off in Trafalgar Square
At about 11 o’clock the firecrackers go off in the air.
Now you don’t want to miss that because it’s always good
But that’s followed by loads of speeches
So I’d move on to a different part of the Hood.
However if you do decide to stay you will be rewarded
At 12.45 the dragons dance is started.
–
But I’d head for Chinatown
It’s only a few minutes walk away
And at Shaftesbury Avenue there’s a big stage
With performances and dragons going all day.
–
You see the secret to making this a good day out
Is not to stay in one place but to keep moving about.
There’s plenty to see and food to try
And there’ll be street stalls everywhere with things to buy.
–
At about 6pm there’ll be fireworks in Leicester Square
So wherever you are make sure you get back there
That will mark the end of the day
And I do hope this guide has helped you in some way.
