sega vancouver, what's on in london, trafalgar square

If you're a gamer this event is yours

Let me be honest with you. There’re some events that we mention here, that as good as they are, there’s no chance that I’d want to go to them.

However the Vancouver in the Square event in Trafalgar Square looks like it’s going to be great fun and I’m definitely heading down there.

What they’re doing is putting up a giant screen and showing the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics. You’ll be able to see the whole thing live. Yeah I know that’s hardly worth going there for, although it’s a nice idea.

No what I like the sound of are the SEGA downhill slalom skiing, snowboarding, bobsleighing and other winter games that they’re going to have. They’ll have Nintendo, Wii and Xbox consoles all around the square so that anyone can have a go.

Then if the people from SEGA think you’re any good. You get the chance later in the day to go head to head with the other best players and everyone can watch you battle it out on the giant screen.

There’s no word as to how many goes you can have or what exactly the rules are. But the event is due to start at 10am and as far as I can see there isn’t much advertising about the event. This is great because if you get there early, you should be able to get lots of goes in before the word gets out.

I tell you if you know what gamers are like, after midday they’ll be massive queues of people waiting and hoping to get on and then you know you’re only going to get one go. So seriously get there early.

The Vancouver in the Square event is on this Saturday in Trafalgar Square and starts at 10am – 6pm and is obviously free. Don’t forget to check our London weather forecast before you set off.
