London is great for kids and if you know where to look there are many free activities for kids in London.
What I don’t understand is how badly many of them are advertised.
You know I think the British museum is good, especially for families, but they have to up their game on letting families know what’s going on there.
I’ve mentioned the Saturday activities that they run for families before, but the ones they have this coming weekend deserve a special mention and I wouldn’t want you to miss them.
On Saturday 23rd they are running a free family workshop on how to make a music video. It’s aimed at children 7+ and they’ll be able to create the video and share it online.
Then on the next day there’s a workshop on how to make a comic where the children learn how to and then create their own comic which they can take home. Again it’s for the 7+ group and lasts 45 minutes.
I think these workshops are brilliant and they’re completely free. But if you didn’t read this blog there’s a good chance you wouldn’t know these activities exist.
Guidebooks never tell you about them, a lot of the what’s on in London websites don’t mention them and you can’t easily find them on the first page of the British museum site.
If you do decide to go, you just turn up and take part at the next session. Each activity starts at 11.30 and goes on until 3.30.
Click the above links for details on both activities.
