Is this anyway to find out about an event

I‘m so tired this morning I don’t know what to say

The rhymes aren’t flowing

I need some strong coffee to kick start the day.

Have you ever been there and felt like this

If I could just sleep some more it would be absolute bliss.

This is starting to sound a bit like the blues

Effects of too much sex, drugs and alcohol abuse

But it makes for a perfect link

If I could only just wake up and start to think.

What was it she said last night?

Was it that the event sounded cool?

But I was so wasted

Was it something about going back to her school hall?

Man where’s that coffee I need to clear my head

This could be bad, under-aged

Ahh that’s better.

Ummm.  I think I remember what she said.

At last I’m starting to wake up

“Darling are you coming back to bed?”

Who the hell was that?

I don’t believe it I brought her back to the flat.

–

Hi… How’s it going?

I feel fine, but you look terrible she said

Then whispered, I was hoping we could stay in bed.

–

Ahh, I mumbled.

But I’ve just seen the time

She continued as she started to dress.

Turned and then smiled once more.

I opened the envelope to reveal all

And smiled as I read

It wasn’t her school and yes it was cool

It was jazz, swing and blues at the Albert Hall.

It’s a free music event

This Thursday in fact

No ticket or booking needed

Nothing like that.

You just turn up

And enjoy the sounds

Of one of the best jazz singers around.
