These tips will help you enjoy the day more
Every now and then an exhibition comes along that we have to mention because if you’re in London, it’s a must see.
I’m not going to go into the details about how great this Van Gogh exhibition is bound to be, you can find that at lots of other places. See Van Gogh at the Royal Academy of Arts.
Rather I thought it would be useful to help you plan your visit so you know the best time to get there, how to make sure you don’t get tired and what to do for lunch.
I’ve been to Royal Academy of Arts for major exhibitions quite a few times and the best advice I can give is get there early for when the doors open. Even then it will be busy but nothing like as bad as during the day. Also don’t go on the weekends if you don’t have to, it’s just crazy.
The best tube station to go to is Green Park, it’s slightly closer and I prefer it because it’s a less busy walk than from Piccadilly Circus station.
Another good reason for getting to the exhibition early is you stand a better chance of finding some seating when you’re tired. Usually at these exhibitions it’s so busy, finding somewhere to sit down to take a rest is pretty hard.
What you need to do after you’ve collected your tickets is straightaway head for the Sackler Wing, just ask one of the attendants for directions. There you’ll find portable stools which you can take to sit on during the exhibition. These seats often go quickly so you need to be there early to stand a chance of getting one.
Although the Academy has a cafĂ© and a restaurant they’re nothing special and you’re bound to be hungry after walking around all that time.
I’d say plan ahead and either book a table at one of the restaurants in your EPok London Pack or use one of the meal coupons in the Pack. Of course you could also use the Burger King voucher we’re currently giving away. (The Burger King offer is now closed).
I hope that all helps and that you have a more relaxed and easy visit to the exhibition.
