Is the service that hotel review sites give any good?

Today we’re launching a new service to give you extra peace of mind when choosing a London hotel to stay at.

Most of us do the same thing when looking for a hotel for our vacation. We read reviews on various hotel review sites then make a decision based on those reviews.

Problem is it’s getting harder to know which reviews you can trust. What with PR firms leaving reviews to boost their clients ratings, finding true reviews isn’t that easy.

And the thing is I don’t think it’s going to change until some influential bloggers and travel communities start writing about the failings of hotel review sites.

Some of them have done articles in the past, but there’s no follow up. It’s only continued pressure that will get these review sites to put in proper measures to stop the false reviews.

So here’s hoping that a few of these bloggers and communities can get the ball rolling for some changes:

Elliott.org

Travel Savvy Mom.com

Gadling.com

Boots n All.com

Brave New Traveler.com

In the meantime, to try and help you get an honest idea of what the hotel is like that you’re thinking of booking, we’ve started a new service called the London Hotel Report.

The way it works is very simple. Give us the name of the hotel that you’re thinking of staying at and we’ll go to the hotel and give you a report of what it’s actually like.

We’re not going to duplicate information you can find on their website like number of rooms etc. We’ll tell you about the things they don’t mention like how noisy it is, how clean the rooms and amenities are, how friendly the staff are, what the surrounding area is like.

Plus, if you have any specific information you want to know about the hotel, let us know and we’ll get that for you as well.

Our report lets you know the information that’s important to you. It gives you an up to date idea of what the hotel is really like.

Your hotel report is free if you buy the EPok London Pack or £9.99 if you just want the report. The area we’ll be covering is central London and as far out as Zone 2, this covers the most popular hotel areas.
