Restaurants that love children

You’d think that with so many restaurants in London, finding child friendly ones would be easy. Well for Londoners it is easy pretty easy, but as a visitor, where do you begin?

In this two part article I’ll first highlight 3 of the larger chain restaurants that are very good for families and in the second part 3 more independent restaurants.

So in no particular order, here are 3 of the best child friendly restaurants in London.

Nando’s Restaurants

Why it’s good for kids: A fun Pack is given to children with games and activities for them to play.

Nando’s is a fairly large restaurant chain that serves Portuguese food. The speciality is chicken done in their famous sauce.

The fact is that when you go out for a meal as a family you want to go to a restaurant that understands children. Luckily Nando’s is such a restaurant and they make a special effort to accommodate families.

Like all good family orientated restaurants they have a special children’s menu. But what’s also impressive is that they provide a pack full of games, activities and competitions to keep the children happy.

When you’re in London this is definitely one of the restaurants to go to if you want an easy time with the children.

Giraffe Restaurants

Why it’s good for kids: Special menus for children with colour-in games to play.

Giraffe restaurants are another good choice. Although not in as many locations as Nando’s they have branches at or near the major tourist areas.

What I think is really good about Giraffe is that they show it is possible to cater for families and provide something more than just burger and fries.

The cuisine is International and they provide a varied children’s menu with a good choice of foods including a vegetarian and fruit dish.

They also have table top colour-in and draw games and they even give out balloons to the children.

Wagamama Restaurants

Why it’s good for kids: Plenty of room, children’s menu and very friendly staff.

Wagamama is a reliable chain of restaurants that specialise in Noodles. The bench style seating means during the day there’s plenty of room to spread out and this and early evening is the best time to go with children.

A small child’s menu is on offer but what really makes this restaurant chain one to try is the sheer size of the restaurants. Seating of over 100 is the norm and understanding staff are always ready to help.

By the way the bench style seating you’ll either love or hate but children always find them fun.

There are plenty of branches in London, so if you’re stuck for somewhere to go and you see one, at least you know it will be ok.
