Back in August I went to see the Press Photographers’s Year 09 exhibition and was completely blown away.
Well the World Press Photo exhibition which invites press photographers from around the world to take part, is here for a limited time.
It will have even more remarkable photos, so honestly, drop everything and get to the Royal Festival Hall before it ends on Sunday 13th.
Below is what I said about the Press Photographers’s Year 09 exhibition and I’m sure I’ll feel the same about this exhibition.
I’ve been going on about this exhibition since it started because I think it’s so imprtant to see what it’s like in other parts of the world and a picture does this so dramatically.
With the Internet the world can seem like we’re closer than ever, world events reach us in minutes, a financial crises in one country touches the whole world. We must be getting closer. But it’s not until you see the photographs of the people who travel the world for a living. Telling a story without words, but everyone can understand, that you realise we’re still worlds apart from each other.
