Christmas at the Southbank Centre is special

With Christmas getting closer many of the Christmas markets are coming to an end.

The Christmas Slow Food market ends on Tuesday 22nd and the Cologne Christmas market ends on Wednesday 23rd. Both are around the Southbank Centre and you haven’t been in London at Christmas if you haven’t been to one of them.

There’s plenty to see, do and taste and go in the late afternoon or early evening when it’s dark to experience the illuminations, it makes a big difference.

At the Slow Food Market you can buy all kinds of meats, sweets and various foods and there are demonstrations on how to cook different types of food for Christmas.

At the Cologne market you can buy presents and small gifts and although it’s busy, everyone’s in such a good mood, a complete contrast to the madness of Oxford Street, it all feels fine.

The Slow Food market opens at 11am and goes on until 8pm, while the Cologne market ends at 10pm.
It’s also a good idea to check the London weather forecast.
