London Jazz Festival could change your views on jazz

That title sums up a lot of people’s views on jazz. They heard one type of jazz ages ago and have dismissed everything called jazz. It’s a shame, but hopefully this post will get you to try it again, because there isn’t just one type of jazz.

I’ve mentioned about the London Jazz Festival starting in November and now it’s finally here. It starts today and if you think you’re not a jazz lover I recommend going to see the Marcus Roberts Trio and see if that changes your mind.

Tickets are £12 – £24 which is a bargain to hear this trio and they play at the Wigmore Hall on Monday 16th at 7.30pm.

If you’re still unsure whether jazz is for you try the free event at the Southbank Centre on Saturday 14. It’s billed as an Introduction to jazz and if after that you’re still not moved. Give jazz a miss! It starts at 2pm.

However for the jazz lovers out there you’re in jazz heaven. There are lots of acts performing at various venues so the best thing to do is visit the official site to decide who to see.

If you do go out to one of the festival venues you’ll probably want something to eat beforehand. With our EPok London Pack we can get you discounts at various restaurants. Visit epok.com for details.
