Who was it that said “Music styles come and go but musical influences last forever.”* The 60′s had and still continue to influence the music of today and the National Portrait Gallery are showcasing pictures of the greats of that era.
Even though the exhibition’s only focusing on London, London in the 60′s was the centre of the Universe. Anyone who was anyone had to or wanted to touchdown in Swinging London and the exhibition aims to capture that moment in time.
I’m hoping the exhibition lives up to the promise, there are supposed to be over 150 photographs and various memorabilia on display, many of which have never been seen in exhibition before. The event is called Beatles to Bowie and is on now and runs until 24th January 2010. Tickets are only £11 plus a £1.70 admin fee.
