Get the truth, then go. Umm
You may or may not know all the fuss there’s been about the hotel recommendations on TripAdvisor. Some people are saying that the ratings are being manipulated by PR firms and hotels, TripAdvisor says it’s not so.
Who do you believe?
Here’s the way I now do it.
I’ve been using TripAdvisor long before hotels woke up to this new way of deciding where to stay. Back in 2006 and earlier the reviews and ratings were a lot more honest than they are now. For me any reviewer from 2007 onwards has to be treated with a huge pinch of salt. The reviewers I believe the most are the ones from people who have been members of TripAdvisor from 2006 and earlier.
My advice is when you’re looking at the reviews first look at when the person became a member, then look at the review. Let’s face it if you were a hotel with not very good ratings and a PR firm said they could get you better ratings, what do you think the hotel would do?
One other thing, I’ve started a new car repair service for Londoners to stop them from being ripped off by garages. You can find details about it in an article I did called car repairs shake up and in the same vein here’s an article on Rated People that could surprise you.
Also if you want to know what the weather’s likely to be, here’s a monthly breakdown. London weather monthly forecast.
As an up date to all the Tripadvisor questions. Legal proceedings may start against Tripadvisor by a group of hotel owners. Read here for details.
