If London wasn’t such a fabulous place, with so much always going on, you’d be having a terrible time right now with all the rain. But rain or shine here are a few things to do in London this week.
The madness continues in Trafalgar Square on the Fourth Plinth. Pop along and see who and what they’re doing on the Fourth Plinth. It’s a living art exhibition London style but there’s been some crazy going-ons there.
A little less crazy will the the premiere of Quentin Tarantino’s latest film, Inglorious Basterds. Only a little less crazy because Brad Pitt and Samuel L Jackson are likely to turn up and that means crazy fans. Get there early if you want to be up close and personal with the stars and by early I’m talking 1pm. Stars usually show up from 6pm onwards.
Also have a look at our London Film Premiere Guide for tips on going to premieres.
If golf’s your thing and the weather’s good I’d say head to Canary Wharf because they’ve set up a big outdoor screen showing the British Open. It’s on over the weekend and if it’s looking like a close finish on Sunday, there’ll be no better place in London to watch it.
You may not have heard of the Barbican Centre but it’s a unique exhibition venue. The reason I’m mentioning it this week is that we have a 2 for 1 voucher to one of the exhibitions. The exhibition isn’t exactly mainstream which is why we’re not sending the voucher out as normal. If you do want to see it, it’s called Radical Nature and just give us a call or drop us an email with your order number and we’ll get a voucher over to you. The voucher’s valid until Friday 31st July.
Now to the other extreme but just as niche. If you’re here with your daughter or you’re aged between 14 – 20, at least 172cm tall, naturally beautiful, loads of confidence, loves dressing up and have the potential to be a real diva. You could become an Elite Model. On Saturday and Sunday they have open castings at Covent Garden from 10am – 6pm. If you make it remember who gave you the tip;)
The More London Free Music Festival is one of the best kept secrets in London. You already know I think it’s brilliant and as it ends on Friday 24th this is your last chance to see some wonderful acts.
It all takes place at the Scoop which is roughly 5 minutes walk from London Bridge station. It’s easy to get to but not that easy to find so here’s a map of it’s location and click here for directions.
The events take place every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 12.30 and at 6pm and there’s every type of music you’d want to hear. This timetable of shows will help you decide when to go.
This month the comedy venue we’re highlighting is the Comedy Pub, it’s next to Leicester Square and is a very good venue for comedy. Prices are very reasonable and you’re guaranteed of getting good acts. Thursday – Saturday are the days to go if you feel like having a good laugh. This week there’s a particularly strong line up so you won’t be disappointed.
That should give you some extra ideas of what to do this week and if you haven’t already bought your EPok London Pack click epok.com to buy one.
